Abstract: The current study aims at identifying the possible use of digestate and its impact on the increase of photosynthesis in spring wheat. Spring wheat variety 'Nawra' has been chosen for the research. Experimental soil type is medium loam soil with the following characteristics: pH 6.8–7.0, gross nitrogen 0.15 %, mineral nitrogen 67.7 kg ha-1, available phosphorus – 88–110 mg kg-1, available potassium – 51–68 mg kg-1, calcium – 7748 mg kg-1, magnesium – 652 mg kg-1. The primary digestate is protein and fat waste derived from fishing industry and cattle manure. The product used in the experiment contains 57.31 % organic matter, total nitrogen 135472 mg kg-1, total phosphorus and potassium 37687 and 45100 mg kg-1 respectively, pH 9.2. The largest leaf assimilation area and its substantial increase were observed for spring wheat which was grown in soil fertilised with 30 t ha-1 digestate. The correlation between the leaf assimilation area and digestate application rates was very strong and reliable. The largest substantial increase in chlorophyll a was observed in spring wheat leaves which were fertilised with 30 t ha-1 digestate. There was direct correlation between chlorophyll a and digestate application rates. Substantial changes were determined in chlorophyll b for spring wheat fertilized with 30 t ha-1 digestate
