Abstract: While harvesting the rapeseeds, the seed harvest losses often exceed the allowable ones. The size of losses is determined by structure of combine harvester, the sort of rapeseeds, meteorological conditions, qualification of operator of combine harvester, etc. The losses of seed clea-are about 5 - 10 %. The article presents the research on cleaning the rapeseed threshing material, in order to determine the rational parameters of cleaning devices. The influence of upper sieve of scale shape on losses of cleaning the seeds was analyzed during research by changing the load of upper sieve, iir flow rate in cascade and the angle of sieve position. The research determined that 2 kg-(s m)"1 of rapeseed threshing material should be fed to the ling device of combine harvester, when the air flow rate in cascade is 5 m s 1, the angle of screen position is 1,8°. In this case, about 98% of seeds go through the sieves, while the quantity rf impurities in seeds does not exceed 2%. The differences of cleaning parameters of examined upper sieves of scale shape, with scales m afferent shapes, are not essential, therefore, more research is needed to identify the advantages and disadvantages of shape of scales by changing the air flow rate in sections at the length of upper sieve
