Abstract: The article analyses a specific boiler-house of central heating located in a sma| town and burning straw, grain remains and peat siftings. Characteristics of the boiler-hous and the technology for preparation of its bio-fuel are described in the article. Lowe calorific capacity of bio-fuel mixtures and its separate components in the boiler-hou* ranged from 11,70 MJ/kg up to 16,30 MJ/kg, and its humidity coefficient from 15,40% u] to 33,94%. According to the results of observation of the smoke exhausted into th atmosphere, the coefficient of air surplus established in every separate fuel-burning caa varies from 15 up to 52,5. It therefore significantly exceeds the recommended rate (<x~l,S 1,7). Under the company accounting data, the percentage losses of heating in the beginninj of the heating season was to 16,4%, and in the midwinter when the flow of the heatinj supplied increased it was to as much as 9,4%
