Abstract: Viena pagrindinių sėkmingos kaimo turizmo plėtros prielaidų – vartotojų poreikių ir lūkesčių tenkinimas gerinant teikiamų paslaugų kokybę. Paslaugų kokybė skatina vartotojų lojalumą, užtikrina potencialių vartotojų pritraukimą, darbuotojų pasitenkinimą ir teigiamo įvaizdžio formavimą rinkoje. Straipsnyje, vadovaujantis atliktų tyrimų duomenimis, pateikiamos kaimo turizmo paslaugų kokybės gerinimo priemonės
One of the key conditions for the development of rural tourism is to meet consumers’ needs and expectations while improving quality of service. Quality of service promotes consumers’ loyalty, attracts potential consumers, makes employees satisfied, and forms a proper image in the market. These are the motivating reasons for rural tourism establishments to seek high quality of service and continually improve it. By following studies of scientific literature, an analysis of a statistical data and results of our research, we propose directions for improvement and means for quality of service in rural tourism. We recommend to develop an evaluative system for quality of service, apply universal quality management principles in rural tourism business, ensuring that service meets set standards, create communities of rural tourism encourage cooperation to perform common functions. We further encourage spreading information about rural tourism businesses and provided services as well as raise qualification of employees and owners. In addition to this, market research is needed for the service providers to better understand and meet tourist expectations
