Abstract: The article is dedicated to the theoretical analysis of the concept of performativity. It provides a broad overview of different social, culture logical, linguistic and psychological as well as theatre theories, which contributed to the understanding of performativity and distinguishes the most important aspects of this concept. Such theoretical research lays foundations for the practical analysis of the different social, cultural and art phenomena. When applied to art analysis, performativity theory enables us to search for originality and innovation in the cultural context, which is influenced by reproduction of various images of reality and personal identity
