Abstract: Due to the fact that the most relevant problem concerning current research in the ethnic music has been the problem of dating the formation of the main distinctive features of the ethnic music, the author has come to the conclusion that derivation of these features could have been related to the process of formation of the main anthropological features of the humanity, because the spreading of the features characteristic to the ethnic music coincides with the ancient areas of dwelling not only of the Great races, but also with the territories of local races and population groups in general
