There were selected 4 species for semi – shade places according to long term monitoring, cultivation and propagation technologies in the introduction of tree peonies in Kaunas Botanical Garden of Vytautas Magnus University. It represents 2,7 % plants growing in collection – exposition. All studied tree peonies are ornamental and suitable for green plantations. Our climate Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews. start growing in April 10–15, the end of vegetation is in October 10–20. Flowering time is from May 25–30 until June 10–15. Other tree peonies start growing from April 15–20 until the end of October. Their flowering time is from June 23–30 until July 9–14. Sometimes it prolonged till mid – July. Plants decorative features describe the characteristics of flowering time, flower diameter, colour and quantity; bush exuberance. The biggest are P. suffruticosa flowers (22,5±3,73 cm in diameter), average flowers have P. lutea (6,5±2,85 cm), and the smallest are P. potaninii flowers (5,5±0,95 cm). According to the bush height tree peonies are classified into tall – P. suffruticosa (185,8±6,85 cm) and P. delavayi (175,0±7,50 cm), medium height – P. lutea (98,7±5,74 cm) and low – P. potaninni (73,5±3,77 cm). There are cultivating 4 tree peony species with different bush diameter in field collection. We can plant properly tree peonies in green plantations according to their bushes height and diameter characteristic. Test results showed that the biggest bush diameter had P. suffruticosa (167,0±3,30 cm) and P. lutea (170±8,76 cm), medium size bush had P. delaavayi (152±6,71 cm), and the smallest were P. potaninni bushes (117±3,20 cm)en
