Dvasinis tobulėjimas – šeimos tvirtumo pamatasPublication[Spiritual perfection as the basic of a strong family]research articleSoter : religijos mokslo žurnalas. Kaunas : Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto leidykla, 22 (2007), p. 7-24Preparing for family life it is necessary to understand that the strength of a family depends on spiritual rather than material factors. In the present article the basis of a strong family is revealed through understanding the spiritual essence of human being and through practice of spiritual perfection. God created man in his own image, that is God called him into being out of love as well as to love. Love as primordial human phenomenon is an important family-building factor. In Theoretical considerations of the article the concept of love becomes a key to understanding man and his nature. In Practical considerations various kinds of love are discussed paying particular attention to the concept of agape love. In Practical practice of the article the Apostle Paul’s “anthem of love” (1 Cor 13) as practice of spiritual perfection is analysed. The real spirituality that is the source of every vocation manifests living in Spirit, for Spirit or Love.131 98 -
research articleSoter : religijos mokslo žurnalas. Kaunas : Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto leidykla, 22 (2007), p. 25-40The article deals with the fundamental characteristic of the human body, which is called the nuptial meaning of the body. This nuptial attribute is the individual’s capacity of expressing love, in which he or she becomes a gift for another. And in doing so a person establishes an authentic love relationship with another person. God Himself inscribed this power into the human body. The call to become the gift of love for another is a God given call to every person. In our giving love to another, we are called to resemble God who is loving and giving. We fulfill our call to be in God‘s image, by fulfilling the nuptial meaning of the body.
