Abstract: The fact that the concept of family is a culture specific term, which has carried different meanings during the history, is well known. Plurality of family forms is not a novel phenomenon either, but the problematic feature of the present situation is implementation of shared Europe wide policies in this sphere. The issue of family reunification will be the main focus of the present analysis. This issue is tightly connected with the topics of nationality, citizenship, language and succession along generations, which presuppose upbringing of children as well.
