Abstract: May, 2006 marked the beginning of the ESF project 'Improvement of pedagogical competences of higher education lecturers' (Project code: BPD2004-ESF-2.4.0-03-05/0161, Contract No. ESF/2004/2.4.0-03-358/BPD-78/3). The project is being implemented at Vilnius Pedagogical University. The project aims to improve the quality of higher education studies through improvement of higher education lecturers' pedagogical competence and their ability to apply modern study technologies. We kindly invite everybody: novice lecturers and teachers of different pedagogical experience, or educators, who seek for refreshment uf their pedagogical competences, to register for training of higher education lecturers, members of the above-mentioned target groups, which will be conducted according to the prepared 9-module programme 'Improvement of higher education pedagogical competence and their ability to apply modern study technologies'. The prepared modules have already been approved by the Council of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Vilnius Pedagogical University and will be implemented from September to December 2007: 1. Philosophy of higher education 2. Modern study theories 3. Development of lecturers' entrepreneurship 4. Education policy and management 5. Modern study technologies 6. Student-teacher communication (ethic, cultural, legal, psychological and educational aspects) 7. Application of information technologies in the study process 8. Assessment, reflection, feedback methods 9. Preparation of assessment assignments (portfolio) Every participant of the seminars will be provided with publications financed from the project funds: 1. Module programme on improvement of higher education teachers' pedagogical competency and their ability to apply modern study technologies. 2. Teaching material on improvement of higher education teachers' pedagogical competency and their ability to apply modern study technologies
