Abstract
Tyrime naudotos metodikos: Pasitenkinimo gyvenimu skalė (SWLS Satisfaction with Life Scale; Ed Diener, 1985); Klausimynas tiriamojo emocijų išreikštumui matuoti (PANAS-X Positive and Negative Affect Schedule – Expanded Form; D. Watson, L. A. Clark, 1999), Emocijų įvertinimo skalė (The Assesing Emotions Scale; Schutte N.S., Malouff J.M., Bhullar N., 2009) ir Socialinio palaikymo klausimynas (The Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey; C. D. Sherbourne, A. L Stewart, 1991).
The aim of the study was to explore Leaders’ Subjective Well-Being, Emotional Intelligence and Perceived Social Support and to identify the relationship between all these three constructs. The study included 230 respondents (120 female and 110 male); 121 of these respondents were leaders (61 females and 60 males) and 109 subordinates (60 females and 49 male). The respondents were employers with different professions from all over Lithuania. Research methods: Satisfaction with Life Scale (Ed Diener, 1985), PANAS-X Positive and Negative Affect Schedule – Expanded Form (D. Watson, L. A. Clark, 1999), The Assessing Emotions Scale (Schutte N.S., Malouff J.M., Bhullar N., 2009) and The Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (C. D. Sherbourne, A. L Stewart, 1991). The findings of the research suggest that higher subjective well-being for female leaders’ is related to higher emotional intelligence. Male leaders’ higher subjective well-being is related to higher emotional intelligence and at the same time higher positive affectivity is related to such factors of emotional intelligence as higher perception of emotions, self-emotion management and well-practiced emotion regulation of others. Leaders’ both male and female higher subjective well-being is related to higher general social support, informational social support and instrumental social support. Male leaders’ higher subjective well-being is related to higher instrumental social support. Higher emotional intelligence for female leaders is related to emotional and general social support. As well female leaders’ higher emotional intelligence is influenced by higher instrumental social support. In general leaders’ emotional subjective well-being aspect is predicted by higher self-emotion management and well-practiced emotion regulation of others (positive affectivity is predicted by strong management of emotions of others, negative affectivity is influenced by weak self-emotion management and strong use of own emotions).
