Abstract
The paper presents test results of the performance and exhaust emissions characteristics. The engine was operating on 95 gasoline and gasoline with additives P1, P2 and P3. The experimental tests were performed on a Volkswagen Passat 1.8 l engine. It was measured engine torque, fuel consumption, exhaust gas emissions. The cetane number of gasolines increased up to 0,6 – 1,3 unit by using gasoline additives. When the engine worked on 20 – 80 % load at 2400 rpm the specific fuel consumption stays almost unchanged. When engine was operated on gasoline with additives P1, the CO emissions reduced middling about 0,2 %. With additives P1 HC emissions were at the lowest level 60 – 100 ppm.
