Linara Dovydaitytė (Ph.D. in art history) is an associate professor and a head of the Department of Art History and Criticism at the Faculty of Arts, Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. She writes on art and politics under Soviet regime, Post-Soviet memory politics in museum practices with particular interest in critical culture theories including feminism and post-colonialism. She is co-author of the monograph Communicating Culture: Institutions, Strategies, Audiences (2015) and (co)editor of several collections of essays including Art and Its Publics, 2014; (Un)blocked Memory: Writing Art History in Baltic Countries, 2012; Performing History from 1945 to the Present, 2010, and Art and Politics: Case-Studies from Eastern Europe, 2007. Currently she writes on the problem of public participation in art museums and researches the musealization of Soviet heritage in the Ignalina Nuclear Plant Region.
