Trade Logistics
Description
The course is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of trade logistics to help them understand their application in modern companies. To teach students to apply theoretical knowledge by analyzing not only functional areas of trade logistics but also a functional trade logistics complex consisting of: supply, distribution logistics, customer service, warehousing and transportation activities. The main study methods – discussions, question and answer presentation, case study analysis, problem based solving, preparation and presentation of group work.
Aim of the course
Provide knowledge and skills on the place and importance of trade logistics in business logistics, trade logistics, warehousing, inventory modeling, product delivery and distribution optimization with broader strategic business financial, marketing and production goals.

Course content
1. The place and significance of trade logistics in the business logistics system. Basic concepts of trade logistics.
2. Spheres and functions of trade logistics.
3. The main flows of material goods movement, their directions and fundamentals of organization.
4. Distribution channels and their systems.
5. Trade logistics service and logistics costs. Organization of logistics work.
6. Commodity Flow Planning. Means of transport, types, distribution. Containers and pallets.
7. Warehouse logistics. Logist's duties and work process in a warehouse.
8. Receipt and storage of cargo. Preparation and dispatch operations. Movement of goods in a warehouse.
9. Product supply and distribution optimization options in trade logistics.
10. Logistics cost modeling.
11. Technological process of preparing the sales hall for sale of goods
12. Selection of optimal storage system. Main technical and economic indicators of warehouses.
13. Selection of storage system and formation of inventory models.
14. Customer Service Strategy
Assesment Criteria
1. Explains the importance of trade logistics, spheres of activity, functions and flows of movement of material goods to solve practical situations.
2. The report on the merchandise sales policy of the trading company shall be in an appropriate format, be reasonably concise, clear and orderly and set out the business prospects.
3. Problems of trade logistics activities are identified and analyzed, problem solving actions and measures are selected taking into account the results of the analysis of the trading company environment.
4. Sales channels are described and a sales channel system for the trading company is established.
5. Analysis of sales and logistics processes of the products sold by the sales unit using appropriate methods.
6. Developed and creatively presented trade realization policy using IT.
7. Critically assesses problematic situations, uses research knowledge to evaluate and solve problematic situations, thinks creatively and strategically, applies socially responsible principles, making decisions in trade logistics activities.
