Gallery 101 to Exhibit Images of War in Georgia
On Wednesday, February 1, at 6 p.m., debut exhibition Georgia. 08/08/08 by Artūras Morozovas, VMU Faculty of Arts Alumnus, will open at VMU Art Gallery 101 (Laisvės al. 53).
The exhibition will feature photos which captured the military conflict between Russia and Georgia. Morozovas went to take the images in 2008, and this was his first experience as a photographer in a war zone. During the trip, the VMU graduate created several photo reports which detail specific events and reveal personal stories connected by the context of international military conflict.
The author, VMU Faculty of Arts Alumnus Artūras Morozovas, has been collaborating with various Lithuanian and foreign news agencies and press publications for five years now. His photos have been published in The Guardian, The Times, Newsweek, The Star, Boston Tribute, Paris Match, Daily Mail, Scottish Mail, etc. In 2009, these photos earned him the annual Lithuanian Press Photography award, Auksinis Kadras (Golden Shot).
The exhibition will be open at VMU Art Gallery 101 until February 24.
