Born in Kaunas, on February 21st, 1955. In 1978 graduated from Faculty of Automation of Kaunas Polytechnical Institute and worked there at the Control Systems Department as Assistant professor till 1980. During 1980-1988 and 1989-1990 worked at the Institute of Physical and Technical Problems of Energetics (Lithuanian Academy of Sciences) as a researcher and has his post graduate studies. In 1986 presented Candidate of Technical Sciences thesis. In 1988-1989 was a Senior Lecturer at Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. From 1990 till 1997 worked as a Senior researcher at Scientific Centre “Informatica” of Vytautas Magnus University, Senior lecturer of Faculty of Informatics, Vice-dean of the faculty (1990-1992), Associate professor. In 1993-1995 – Deputy director of Information Centre at joint-stock company “International SAF Concern”.

From 1999 till 2004 – part-time Asociate professor at Information Systems Department of Kaunas University of Technology. From 1994 till 2006 worked at joint-stock company “Omnitel” (mobile telecommunications) in different positions: Senior engineer, Head of Kaunas Representative Office (1995-2001), Deputy head of Data Transfer Division, Region manager of Access Network, Head of Network Planning Division. On June 28th, 2006 was confirmed by the Senate of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) as a Dean of the Faculty of Informatics.

In 1992 the Senate of VMU conferred him the Associate Professor (Docent) title. In 1993 the scientific degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences was conferred by Lithuanian Science Council. His scientific interests lie in the fields of Dynamic System Identification and Adaptive Control; Design of Information Systems and Databases; Quality of Service in Telecommunications. Published more than 30 research publications, made over 20 presentations at conferences, edited textbooks, referred dissertations. Participated in different industrial projects and technological implementations.

Courses delivered: Computer Networks and Telecommunications; Telecommunications Fundamentals; Principles of Database Organization; Data Types and Structures; Computer Architecture and Logical Design; Programming; Informatics and Computer Science; Control Theory; System Modelling; Automated Control Systems.

In 2001 and 2006 was elected to the Council of Vytautas Magnus University. Member of Certifying Commisions of the Faculty of Telecommunications and Electronics (1995-1999) and of the Faculty of Informatics (from 2006) of Kaunas University of Technology.
