At the moment the University has 136 “LLP/Erasmus” partners in 26 countries, each semester the International Office coordinates intensive flows of incoming and outgoing students, which are increasing every semester. The implementation of the “LLP/Erasmus” exchange programme provides young people with an opportunity to learn about foreign cultures, customs and languages and at the same time acquire professional skills, improve the knowledge and also informally distribute information about their native countries, cultures and languages.
In 2003 the University joined “Campus Europae” project and at the moment is the only university of Kaunas which offers students such an exchange scheme. The main aim of this project is to provide young people with possibility to learn European languages, students in a chosen country spend one academic year, during the first semester they study not only the subjects of their specialty, but also the local language, meanwhile the second part of the year is dedicated solely to studies of the specialty in a foreign language.
The idea of “Campus Europae” is to accelerate the development of the European education sphere by establishing examples of concrete cooperation “Campus Europea” is an opportunity to learn more about other culture, learn languages and also to make useful social and professional contacts.
