Why Study Here? The Faculty of Natural Sciences puts emphasis on modernity as one of its essential qualities. The research topics and study courses here reflect both the established traditions and the latest trends in the field. The faculty staff is comprised of eminently qualified, world-renowned scientists, specialists of environmental sciences, biology, chemistry and physics. The Bachelor’s degree studies offer a broad scope of knowledge spanning the origins and evolution of the universe, the basics of genetics, the interplay between people and natural environment, the effect of technologies on the development of society, trends of harmonious development, etc.

International Relations: The faculty students are free to choose universities abroad as destinations of their further learning. Well known universities of Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands are all welcoming and provide an exceptional experience to visitors from Vytautas Magnus University. The study programmes of the faculty are frequently updated in accordance to the practices and innovations developed by universities in Western Europe and the United States.

Experience and Research: The Faculty of Natural Sciences boasts modern facilities which are kept up-to-date by courtesy of the EU structural funds. Students can undertake research not only in the modern labs at VMU, but in the research canters of other Lithuanian scientific and educational institutions as well. Postgraduate and doctoral students may contribute to the research projects carried out by the professors of their department.

The students and the researchers of the faculty work hand in hand as collaborators of scientific association “Modusas”. The association rounded up a group of creative, proactive students and teachers of the faculty who have the common goal of spreading the word about natural sciences in the society. “Modusas” encourages students at high schools and gymnasiums to choose the field for their university education. The association is responsible for numerous summer schools, scientific conferences, seminars, discussions, public lectures and campaigns.
