Studies in English:The faculty offers more than 130 Bachelor and Master level non-degree semester long courses in English and other foreign languages, such as French, German, Latvian, Polish and Russian. Its liberal spirit thrives thanks to active and lively students, who get the opportunity to travel and get to know Lithuania and foreign countries, learn languages and attend lectures of internationally famous professors. Humanitarian studies are offered here: history, ethnology, philosophy, Lithuanian, English, German and French philology.
International Relations:Students of BA, MA and PhD. levels are provided the opportunity to participate in LLP/Erasmus student exchange programme‘s contests for partial studies in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Poland, Italy, France, Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, Latvia and other countries.
Experience and Research: Scientific research at the faculty is carried out by numerous outlets, including the centres of Computer Linguistics, Culture Research and others. The Computer Linguistics Centre performs grammatical and semantic analyses of Lithuanian language, develops online translation tools, works on automatic music transcription and digitalization of verbal and written language.
The Centre for Lithuanian Diaspora Studies is conducting research on the political, cultural and scientific legacy of Lithuanian Diaspora, as well as maintaining Diaspora archives. The scientists working at the centre are analyzing the processes of contemporary migration and researching the history, culture and literature of Lithuanian exile. The scholars of the Culture Research Centre focus on the phenomena of modern Lithuanian urban culture, as well as characteristics and activities of various subcultural communities and virtual culture, created by the use of computer technologies.
The Centre of Kaunas' History is carrying out various kinds of research on the history of Kaunas region and city, the university and war. The centre is regularly organizing scientific conferences of national and international level. Research programmes and projects are carried out and the historical bibliography of various research areas of the centre is collected here.
Centre of Studies of Prof. Bronius Vaskelis’ Literary Comparativistics is concerned with comparing works of various Lithuanian artists, looking for connections among different branches of art, determining the influences of cultural environment on the texts and their authors. The Faculty of Humanities is also a place that gave birth to many academic community clubs. Informal student clubs for lovers of ethnology, English Philology, literature and history are functioning here as well.
