On 11 May, Vytautas Magnus University was visited by a delegation from Kazakhstan: representatives of the Center for International Programs (CIP) and the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Lithuania, who discussed possibilities for cooperation.

The meeting was attended by the President of CIP Zhanbolat Meldeshov, CIP Manager of Division on Implementation of International Projects Aidana Sadibekova, and Senior Consul of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Lithuania Ruslan Amangeldin. The guests met with VMU Rector Prof. Juozas Augutis, Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Julija Kiršienė, and Director of International Cooperation Department Ilona Kazlauskaitė.

The discussion focused on possibilities to exchange Lithuanian and Kazakh students, introduce the youth of both countries to the study and internship opportunities, to prepare special programs for Kazakh students, and to make it possible for the best students to receive scholarships for the studies at VMU. Guests from Kazakhstan promised to promote the study opportunities offered by VMU.

“The Kazakh nation is open to everyone: we support education development and good relations with everyone. We want words to turn into actions, so we decided to visit and see VMU, Kaunas and Lithuania with our own eyes”, President of CIP Zhanbolat Meldeshov explained.

VMU Rector introduced the visitors to the university, its study opportunities for the incoming students from abroad, the broad liberal arts-based study system, and the possibility for each student to choose from over 30 foreign language courses.

Cooperation between education representatives of my country and VMU is extremely important due to the number of applicants wishing to begin the education in Vytautas Magnus University
