VMU to Establish New Partnership in Japan
Last month Dr. Aurelijus Zykas, head of VMU Centre for Asian Studies, paid a visit to Saga University (Japan), where he held a lecture and discussed the possibility of establishing a new partnership.
During the meetings with Saga University’s vice rector and staff of its international office, the possibilities of student or lecturer exchange and cooperation in scientific research were discussed. While a partnership agreement has not been signed yet, Saga University has already selected the first candidate who would visit Lithuania for one-semester studies at VMU. The agreement is expected to be signed within the next month, making Saga University VMU’s 9th partner in Japan and 22th in the East Asian region.
At the international summer school organized by the Japanese university, Dr. Zykas also read a lecture titled Changing Image of Japan and New Challenges for its Public Diplomacy. The summer school was attended by participants from Europe, Asia, the USA and Australia.
