Accommodation at VMU Dormitory Nr. 2 – “Baltija”

During the academic year, foreign students are accommodated in VMU dormitory which is located in the city center (Vytauto pr. 71, Kaunas) close to the university. In the dormitory, students live in shared double or triple rooms (for 2 or 3 people). Usually there are two rooms in one block. Each room or block has a bathroom with a sink, a shower tub and a WC. Also available in each room are free internet (broadband) access, a table, a bed, a fridge, a wardrobe and chairs. Beddings and towels are provided. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the reading room.

Each floor has a shared kitchen. There are cooking facilities which make it easy for the residents to prepare their own meals. Kitchen utensils (cookware, i.e. pots, pans, etc.) are not provided.There is also a laundry-drying room in the dormitory’s basement, a leisure area with a TV, pool and football tables on the first floor, smoking facilities on the fourth and seventh floors and a spectacular view of the city from the top floors.

VMU dormitory accommodation fee is calculated by the day. The price for one day in the dormitory for the academic year of 2015 / 2016 is 3 euro per person. The monthly accommodation fee is calculated by the number of days the student is registered in the dormitory that month. The fee has to be paid by the 10th day of each month (after your arrival!) into the University’s account no. LT 04 7044 0600 0284 8625 in SEB bank (“SEB bankas” in Lithuanian language). No deposit or advance payment is required.

For the check-in at VMU dormitory students need to provide 2 recent document-size photos (3×4 cm), copy of passport or ID card and to sign the “Agreement for Accommodation”. Students can choose to move out from VMU dormitory anytime during the semester.

Procedure for Applying for Accommodation at VMU Dormitory

Incoming exchange students who want to receive accommodation at the VMU dormitory for the autumn semester of 2015-2016 academic year must follow this link to complete an online application form. The form will be active until August 10th, 2015.

The students who will be provided residence at the VMU dormitory in the autumn semester of the 2015–2016 academic year will be informed personally by e-mail (sent to address provided in the application survey) until August 17th, 2015.

System of temporary accommodation at VMU

Students of VMU who do not live at VMU dormitories but wish to have temporary accommodation (students of full-time or integrated studies can book the residence for no more than 7 (seven) calendar days, while students of part-time or extramural studies can book for a period no longer than 30 (thirty) calendar days) may use the system of booking the residence for guests of students who do not live at VMU dormitory.
