Non-Degree (Free Movers) Studies
Vytautas Magnus University welcomes Free Movers (non-degree students) to apply for Bachelor or Master’s level courses offered in English.
Free Mover students are individual, international students who, upon payment are temporarily (one or two semesters) registered at Vytautas Magnus University for courses in the Bachelor or Master level offered in English. They organize his / her studies in Vytautas Magnus University independently.
After their term in Vytautas Magnus University, Free Mover students receive a transcript of records, but not a degree or a diploma. This is a perfect way to collect some international credits!

- Application Form
- Learning Agreement (filled in and signed)
- A certificate from your home university, proving that you are enrolled as a regular (i.e. feepaying) student
- Transcript of records from home institution
- Proof of English (B2) proficiency
- Letter of motivation (300 – 500 words)
- Copy of your document of identification
- Proof of paid application fee of 50 EUR (with the name of the applicant indicated)
- 1 recent passport size photo (3 x 4 cm)
All application documents has to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org before the application deadline. Please note that incomplete or late applications may not be processed.

Tuition Fees per ECTS credit, Academic Year of 2016 / 2017
In order to participate in Part-time studies at Vytautas Magnus University, Free Mover students pay a charge for the courses. Tuition fees per academic year 2016 / 2017 range from 28,33 EUR to 105,16 EUR per ECTS. Tuition fee depends on field of study and on a study programme.

Application Fee – 50 EUR.
The application fee of 50 EUR has to be paid before sending the application documents. Admitted students will be informed of the steps and dates to be followed to complete the tuition fee payment process. Bank transfers can be sent direct from your bank to Vytautas Magnus University.

Temporary Residence Permit and Visa
Students who are EU / EEA and non EU / EEA citizens entering Lithuania must have valid passports or ID cards.
EU / EEA citizens need a right to reside in Lithuania if they stay for more than 90 days. They can obtain a Temporary Residence Permit for studies in Lithuania at the Kaunas Migration Office after having arrived in Kaunas, for a period not longer than one year.
All students who are non EU / EEA citizens must obtain a visa from the nearest Lithuanian embassy.

VMU dormitory “Baltija”
During the academic year foreign students may apply for the accommodation at VMU dormitory (Vytauto pr. 71, Kaunas), located in the very city centre. Students are accommodated in shared rooms for 2 or 3 persons. Each room has internet access, a table, a bed, a fridge, a wardrobe and chairs, including beddings and towels.
