Purpose

The graduate degree program in Social and Political Critique Studies is aimed at preparing qualified social critique or political analysis professionals to work in modern public and non-governmental organizations, for example: newspapers, informational centers, political parties, other political institutions (municipalities and government level), public institutions, and educational institutions. Graduates of the program are able to identity discourses, power, ideology, philosophies, analyze and evaluate social, political, cultural events in broad philosophical and social theoretical sense, to create and maintain consistent and effective, independent political activities, creative public actions and critique in new media. The master’s degree program in Social and Political Critique Studies combines different fields and professional activities, including competences in critical discourse analysis and process analysis by using poststructural methods, critique of propaganda, coercive institutional persuasion and social manufacturing.

Career opportunities

Social and Political Critique Studies program graduates gain qualifications and professional skills acquire qualifications to work in public interests defending or representing organizations, political parties and related movements, NGOs and associations, as political scientists, philosophers and political critique professionals on the national and international level. Graduates can work in academic and research-based institutions in the field of communications. They also may continue PhD studies in philosophy or political sciences.

Final evaluation

Final paper (Master’s thesis). The program is completed with the public defense of a Master’s thesis.

Admission requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, the Humanities or other Social Science field is required.
