Send a Special Postcard for VMU Anniversary

3082

A set of postcards dedicated to VMU’s 25th reestablishment anniversary is currently being distributed in the university’s buildings. Everyone is welcome to take them and send best wishes to their friends on this special occasion.

Some of these postcards represent the slogans and logos that commemorate the anniversary. The phrase “New Generation” serves as a reminder that, in 25 years since rebirth, Vytautas Magnus University has already raised a new Lithuanian and global generation which is known and recognised by the world of today. These people are striding bravely into the future and their hearts are beating with openness and freedom.

Yet another slogan, “25 Hours. An Extra Hour for Ideas”, encourages you to imagine receiving a small miracle: an extra hour to be together, share ideas, participate in intellectually stimulating conversations and – most importantly – take time for yourself. The university makes this slogan come true through a series of cultural and academic events that are open not only to the members of the university community, but also to everyone interested.

One postcard was made as an illustration of the fact that the square between the two central buildings of Vytautas Magnus University and Kaunas University of Technology will be named the Students’ Square. A bus stop located nearby will also be named after the square.

Five postcards were designed using the images from the VMU album/gift which will be introduced at a press conference on 23 April. This album is the university’s representative gift to the guests. It is composed of 12 texts that reflect Vytautas Magnus University’s values: internationality, openness, freedom, happiness, creativity and diversity. The publication sheds some light on the ecology of the soul, the new generation of VMU, the atmosphere at the university, and the future it envisions. Read more about the album.

The last four postcards are illustrated by quotations – interesting and unusual phrases overheard from students, teachers and other memebers of VMU community.
