Processes of International Relations and Security: Lithuania in Global Arena

Research overview

The cluster aims to develop research on Lithuania’s foreign and security policy, international politics and security processes, the role of Lithuania in international processes, present the obtained research results to the institutions and wider society.

The main research areas cover:

  • Lithuanian Foreign and Security Policy (LFSP): the overall LFSP directions, bilateral and multilateral relations, sources of threats, practical foreign and security policy.
  • Changes in Lithuania’s foreign and security policy and the factors causing the changes.
  • Processes of international relations and security and their impact on LFSP in global, regional, interstate, domestic and individual levels of analysis.

Cluster members intend to develop a research methodology suitable for the analysis of Lithuanian foreign and security policy, and its activity in the international processes and predictions of future developments in LFSP.
