Reaching VMU Dormitory from Vilnius Airport

Vilnius airport is located 6 km from the centre of Vilnius where the train and bus stations can be found. Thus, you will have to take a bus No. 1 and go till the bus stop “Stotis” (the ticket will cost 2,50 LTL at the driver) or a taxi (you may be charged about 50 LTL). There is a direct train going from Vilnius airport to Vilnius train station (the ticket will cost 2,50 LTL at the conductor).

You may change money at the currency exchange office in the Airport.

In Vilnius train or bus station (the bus terminal is opposite the train station on the left side) you will have to take train or bus to Kaunas. Actually, we advise you to take a bus which goes to Kaunas approximately every half an hour and cost about 20 LTL. Train departures are not so frequent. Kaunas bus station is located on the same street as VMU students’ dormitory. Just take any trolleybus from the bus station side and go 2 stops (till stop “Kestucio”). VMU students’ dormitory is front of the bus stop, on the other side of the street.

Reaching VMU Dormitory from Kaunas Airport (Karmėlava)

Kaunas airport is located 15 km from the centre of Kaunas. City bus No. 29 connects Kaunas airport and Kaunas city. If you arrive to Kaunas on a late night flight, city bus No. 29E is for your convenience. You can check the bus route and exact timetables at: www.kvt.lt/en. The ticket will cost 2,00 LTL at the driver. Leave the bus at the stop “Kestucio” and go 50 m. the same street ahead – dormitory is located just on the right of the street.

Public Transport of Kaunas

Most of the university's buildings are located downtown, not far from each other. Reaching them from the train or bus stations and dormitories is possible by trolleybus, bus or minibus.
