On 26 June, students from Azerbaijan and Lithuania, including learners at VMU, have established the Azerbaijani Youth Organisation of Lithuania, AYOL. The new organisation is currently accepting submissions for its logo design contest.
The goal of AYOL is to promote strong, stable and pure relations between Lithuanian and Azerbaijani students and youths, and act as a bridge between young communities in both countries. The organisation’s headquarters will be located in Vilnius, at Gedimino pr. 35, but a separate department is planned to open in Kaunas as well. Samir Musayev, one of AYOL’s initiators and a graduate of VMU Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy, said that there will be no restrictions for membership. “The doors of AYOL will be open to everyone, and it will be a great pleasure to see You in our association”, said the VMU alumnus.
Logo design competition
This intercultural organisation is now announcing competition for the design of its new logo: everyone with sufficient skills and vivid imagination is welcome to participate. AYOL opted not to seek help from professional designers and instead chose a more creative approach, offering a fun challenge to students and other imaginative people. The best logo will be selected by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan: the Ambassador will present a certificate and a special prize to the winner.
Requirements for the logo are the following:
- The logo should depict the friendship and connection between Azerbaijan and Lithuania
- It should use colours from the flags of both countries (organisers ask applicants to use bright colours and avoid colourless tones
- Applicants may describe the friendship between countries by using imagery of young people
- Remember that the flags of Azerbaijan and Lithuania share two colours (red and green)
Logo designs must be sent to azerbaijan.baltic@gmail.com until 15 August, 2012. Contest participants are asked to indicate their name, surname and university in their e-mails.
Negotiations are currently ongoing for another prize: if they are successful, the author of the winning logo will also get a trip to Baku, Azerbaijan (accommodation, food and travel expenses would be covered).
