Discussion on Climate Change to Mark Earth Day
In light of Earth Day on the 22nd of April and the recent tragic events surrounding the earthquake in Nepal, the United Nations Student Club invites everyone to attend a discussion about climate change and sustainable development.
The discussion will be held on Wednesday 6 May, 6 p.m., at the VMU Faculty of Political Sciences and Diplomacy (Gedimino g. 44, Room 302).
Four speakers will participate in the discussion:
- Raul Cazan, an environmental journalist and development researcher. Cazan works in the fields of Environment, Health, and Safety, natural resource management, the politics of climate change, and environmental communication. He currently works in the Center for Sustainable Policies, ECOPOLIS, in Bucharest and Vilnius. In the past, he has also worked with the Earth Day Network in Washington DC and the Worldwide Fund for Nature in Vienna, among many others.
- Ludovic Verbeke from Belgium has a degree in management accounting from Universitee Catholique de Louvain and is completing his degree at Louvain School of Management with a speciality in sustainable development. He has also worked with Deloitte in their department of sustainability in Brussels.
- Associate Professor Dr. Renata Dagiliūtė and Associate Professor Dr. Jūratė Žaltauskaitė (VMU Faculty of Natural Sciences)
“Our Earth is a living organism that we need to protect and it is our hope that you will attend this event to learn more about the part you can play in environmental protection”, the organisers say.
