Research and Art Organisation Unit
Research Office is a non-academic VMU division under the Vice Rector for Research, which administers and organizes doctoral (PhD) studies of science and arts, scientific or artistic activities at the university, coordinates the activities of the clusters of science and research, mediates and maintains relations with various international and national institutions of science and research, various foundations and partners, ensures the spread of information about the results of the university’s scientific or artistic activities and achievements by scientists and researchers, introduces the lecturers and research fellows of the university to the latest innovations of the field in Lithuania and the world.
Area of responsibility – organization and coordination of work of the Research Office, mediation in the supplying of information on the university’s scientific or artistic activities to interested institutions, consultations to the university’s research fellows, lecturers, recognized artists and doctoral students on the matters of scientific or artistic activities, scientific or artistic productions and other performance indicators, various contests and application submissions, analysis of the university’s annual results of scientific or artistic production.
Area of responsibility – management of the information system which includes doctoral studies of science and arts, the process of studies and individual data of doctoral students; presentation of statistical data to the interested institutions, administration of data for the students’ register, coordination of the activities of the science and research clusters.
Area of responsibility – organization and coordination of doctoral studies, administration of admission procedures, organization of doctoral dissertations defences, administration of doctoral committees documents, providing assistance and information to enrolled and prospective doctoral students.
Area of responsibility – handling of the documentation of the Research Office, PhD students’ and other files, creating and registering certificates, mediation in the preparation of the doctoral students’ applications for scholarships from the State Studies Foundation.
Area of responsibility – administration of activities by the office of the Vice-Rector for Research, registration of applications for author’s contracts, handling of documents for the granting of pedagogical and Professor Emeritus titles, preparation of information for sending documents to scientific and other organizations.
Area of responsibility – planning and implementation of activities for the popularization and publicizing of science/arts and research carried out at the university, organization of events related to such activities, presentation of a regular flow of information about the university’s scientific or artistic activities to the national, regional and specialized media, mediation in the university’s scientists’ communication with journalists, preparation of informational material about the university’s scientific or artistic activities in Lithuanian and English for the website VDU.lt and specialized publications.
