Creative activities of VMU students are coordinated by the Arts Centre of the Faculty of Arts.

VMU Arts Centre at the Faculty of Arts watches over creative activities of the university students, manages initiatives in visual and performance arts. Visual arts are represented by the student club Menų Virtuvė and Gallery 101 (Laisvės. al. 53-101), while on the side of performance arts, the university offers students to join folklore ensemble Linago, folk-dance ensemble Žilvitis, girls’ chamber choir, academic theatre of movement, academic student theatre ERRO, dance group Indigo. The Dept. of Theatrology at the Faculty of Arts lends a helping hand to the Theatre Club, which unites fans of stage arts and art professionals not necessarily connected to VMU.

Clubs, ensembles and collectives of VMU raise the university's profile by participating in competitions and festivals in Baltic and Scandinavian countries, Western Europe, the USA, Canada and elsewhere. In 2010, the Arts Centre held a folklore festival. Interdisciplinary projects combining several genres of art are also worthy of mention. In 2009, marking the 20th anniversary of VMU re-establishment, the oratory Sutvėrimas (Creature) by composer Vidmantas Bartulis was presented to the community of the university. A theatre play Vilko Kalėdos (Christmas of the Wolf) served as a Christmas special.

In May 2011, Arts Centre took part in the international culture and ecology festival Birštono Grynparkas, where together with partners from Germany, Malta, Turkey and Poland it developed the interdisciplinary project Šventovė.

VMU Arts Centre strives to make students active participants of artistic life in Kaunas, spiritually enrich the members of the academic community, citizens and guests of Kaunas. The centre initiates interdisciplinary projects of visual and performance arts, presents them to the society, organizes exhibitions, community discussions and meetings.

VMU Gallery 101 (Laisvės al. 53) is an academic and educational art space which is on a mission to become a significant centre for the spread of culture and arts in the city of Kaunas. By involving academic members of the university, the art gallery presents professional evaluations of cultural processes. In less than three years (gallery was founded in 2008), a large number of exhibitions by Lithuanian and foreign artists, movie viewing sessions, public lectures, creative workshops, meetings with artists and discussions were all organized here. The club Menų Virtuvė, functioning under the gallery, is dedicated to art beginners, one-day creative workshops, chamber viewings of movies and relevant discussions.
