Academic literate club ALKAS, founded at the VMU Dept. of Lithuanian Literature, unites all creative students attempting their hand at writing in various literary genres and styles.

This club for the likeminded is a place where a beginner author can meet with other scribblers, share creative experience, have his texts evaluated. Literates publish an almanac Nežinoma Žemė (Strange Land), put their works in publications of VMU, some have already published books of their own. ALKAS awaits everyone already creating or still planning to touch the mane of Pegasus for the first time.
