Summary

The article analyses the challenges of knowledge society to vocational education and training and vocational teacher qualification. The major shortcomings and motives of in-service VET teacher training are identified, vocational teacher in-service training curriculum model is described and major guidelines for its realisation are defined.

MENTOR: AN IMPORTANT FACTOR OF THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL STUDY INTEGRATION IN VOCATIONAL TEACHER TRAINING

Summary

Pedagogical quality of vocational teacher activity is one of the essential preconditions of successful vocational education and training reform. The article analyses an important aspect of vocational teacher training - the development of cooperation between university (higher school) and vocational education and training institution in the area of practical pedagogical studies where a future vocational teacher acquires practical pedagogical activity skills. Levels of practical pedagogical studies, their organisational principles, participants and roles as well as the nature of their interaction are the main issues discussed in the article. The author analyses the activity of a mentor - experienced vocational teacher - in a more detail, discussing mentor's duties, objectives, requirements for his personality, functions performed during practical pedagogical studies, the nature of interaction with the tutor and future vocational teacher. The article ends with conclusions and recommendations how to improve mentor training and the organisation of practical pedagogical studies.

LABOR MARKET REQUIREMENTS FOR CHANGES IN TEACHING/LEARNING METHODS FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Summary

More often the priority in professional activity is being given to creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and communication and co-operation skills. In this paper that searchers for answers to these questions, it is aimed to present requirements that the changing worklife specifies for vocational training, and present the influence of related active teaching/learning methods to individual development and the development of general skills. The nature of changes in vocational training is evaluated, the importance of general skills in contemporary professional education is explained and the influence of active teaching/learning (projects) methods for the development of general skills will be discussed.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTION AS A LEARNING ORGANISATION: PROBLEMS AND LANDMARKS FOR CHANGE

Summary

Lifelong learning and a learning organisation are the topicalities of today in the world of work and in the educational system as well. Still, practical implementation of a learning organisation model is rather slow and complicated. The purpose of the present article is to evaluate the main problematic issues of this model, specify the basic characteristics of an educational institution as a learning organisation and, having generalised theoretical and empirical experience, define the landmarks for vocational institution change. A learning organisation is a complicated and multiple phenomenon, demanding more interdisciplinary research.

Abstract

In diesem Atikel werden die Aussichten der Fortbildung der Berufspädagogen analysiert und die Richtungen der Curriculumentwicklung vorhergesehen. Im Kontext veränderten Paradigmen der technishen Wissenschaften werden neue Erfordernisse für die Lehrprogramme definiert. Es wird die Einwirkung der specifischen Metodologie auf die Lehrmethodik erforscht und neue Wege gesucht, wie man besser die technische Didaktik anpassen kann.

PHILOSOPHICAL TRENDS OF PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Summary

The article analyses a philosophical aspect of personality development in the context of vocational education and training on the basis of pedagogical, psychological and philosophical scientific resources. A classification of philosophical trends of personality development is presented. The article investigates the impact of philosophical trends of education oriented to a person, productivity and developing skills in principal problem solving on the development of vocational training. Perspectives for methodological research continuity are foreseen and conclusions of this theoretical research are presented.
