PREFACE

The best criterion to verify the rightness of the chosen way is life itself. Although six months have passed since the appearance of the first “Vocational Training: Reality and Research” journal, we can not state firmly that the journal has found its place in the abundant flow of scientific and practical information. The time is of the main importance here. However, it is very important that the concept of the publication seems executable for the publishers and acceptable for the readers: high publishing prices caused by bilingual publications are compensated
by the possibilities of spreading the journal through the entire world.

Limited range of people read the journal due to its scientific character. However, the interest of the vocational training institutions shows that theoretical concepts become accesible not only for the scientists and participants of academical studies. The growing activity of educational society makes the journal an indication for searching and disseminating new ideas as well as the possibility of self-evaluation.

The size of the second volume of the journal is smaller. The main trend of the research presented here is the vocational training curriculum renovation. The curriculum issue provides huge possibilities do investigation in the vocational training schools of Lithuania. The articles of Diethelm Jungkunz and Jean-Luc Patry expand the Anglo-Saxon influence through international projects on vocational training practice of Lithuania. Reinhard Czycholl and Danguolė Beresnevičienė continue the distinct vocational training policy trend begun in the first volume. The research of the latter create an introduction to the third volume, which will be devoted to the adult vocational training and continuos education. The issue of teacher training is represented by Rima Adomonienė’s research evaluating teacher training from the psychological point of view. Under the Personality and Profession heading different and very important research is presented by Vytolis Kučinskas and the group of other authors (Sigita Grigaliūnienė, Laima Anužienė, Aivaras Anužis).

The first two volumes of the journal is the very beginning of its further existance. The future of the publication depends on the publishers as well as the readers. Your remarks and propositions are always wellcome – let’s create our journal together!
