“DARBAI ir DIENOS” (“WORKS and DAYS”) is a continuous scholarly publication whose first nine books were published over the period from 1930 to 1940. The issue of “Darbai ir Dienos” has been renewed in Kaunas, Vytautas Magnus University with the aim of drawing together prominent scholars teaching at VMU ­ both local and residing outside of Lithuania ­ and talented researchers of a younger generation. The publication sets out to reflect on contemporary issues in philosophy, language and literature, and to delve into problems of history, ethnology and folklore. The importance of applying and mastering new methods in humanistic studies is stressed and interdisciplinary and comparative studies are given much attention.
